L’Iliade
La guerra di Troia raccontata da vinti e vincitori
by Giuseppe Zanetto
Illustrations by Camilla Pintonato
In this revisitation of Homer’s classic, the epic adventures of the Iliad are told through the eyes of Molossus, a curious kid who wants to discover everything about the Trojan War. He has mixed feelings about it: his grandfather Achilles was the Greek hero who won the war, but his mother, Andromache, was previously married to Hector, the Trojan hero who was killed by Achilles. Molossus knows too well how much his mother suffered because of that legendary war, but at the same time it’s thanks to the defeat of the Trojans if he was born. An unusual point of view in which winners and losers meet to tell a complex and fascinating story, illustrated by Camilla Pintonato in a clean and graphic style that winks to the ancient vase pantings of Greek tradition.
