Yum! Making Sense of Food
by Giancarlo Ascari and Pia Valentinis

How much food does a person eat in a lifetime? Why are there holes in Swiss cheese? What color were carrots originally? In YUM! stories, anecdotes, and quirky facts about food are explained through the lens of our five senses.
Food has many colours and flavours, it smells and makes noises, it goes in and out of our body. Food travels: it comes from near and far, from all points of the compass. When it comes from a long way away we say it is imported, when it comes from nearby we say it is local. When we like something we lick our fingers, when we don’t like it we spit it out: neither is polite. Some people eat too much, others eat too little.
A fun and original way of exploring food in all its forms.
